Sabres’ Miller airs concerns in aftermath of Lucic hit
Whatever happened to staying in your crease? Miller is a great goalie and all, but seriously he was halfway out to the blue line on this play. Could Lucic have held up? Ya maybe, but I think that if players want to wander that far out and nullify a great scoring chance they should expect to get hit like any other player on the ice. Lucic has to race to the open puck, he’s moving fast, that’s his job… Should he hold up and not pursue the puck as soon as he realizes Miller might come out of his crease? I think that it’s time for goalies to lose their immunity when they come out to play the puck, it’s a bit ridiculous that players not only can’t treat them like any other skater playing the puck, they have to go out of their way to avoid them. It’s dumb. Stay in your crease or prepare to get bumped, that’s my vote.
